Career Development

The Space Foundation, in partnership with Stevens Institute of Technology, is pleased to present the upcoming live webinar – Managing a World of Complexity: The Need for Simplicity and Elegance – designed specifically for our ‘New Gen’ (35 and under) crowd!

All pre-registered participants will be entered into a drawing for one (1) complimentary 30th Space Symposium* New Gen registration ($1,895 value).

When:  June 28, 2013, 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. EDT

Why:  “Many would agree that complexity is growing exponentially, is unsustainable, jeopardizes the mission, and is simply unaffordable. A new paradigm is needed as we are currently on a path that will not lead to success.” – Dr. Jon Wade, Associate Dean of Research in the School of Systems and Enterprises at the Stevens Institute of Technology

Technological progress has produced increasingly complex systems that involve many different disciplines, ranging from materials science to software engineering. It is essential for engineers, managers, and sales teams alike to understand the nature of complexity and how it affects their business. This webinar explains the underlying factors that create complexity and it presents several ways to better understand complex systems. It concludes with recommendations for ways to manage these systems from the design phase to execution and a 20 min Q&A session.
