Space Foundation Teacher Liaison to Receive NASA Endeavor Fellowship

Space Foundation Teacher Liaison Maria Chambers is one of only 51 teachers nationwide to be chosen to receive a NASA Endeavor Fellowship. Chambers is a fourth and fifth grade science teacher at Stratton Meadows Elementary School, Colorado Springs, Colo., in Harrison School District 2. She was selected for the Space Foundation Teacher Liaison program in 2011.

The NASA fellowship will enable Chambers to earn a STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) certificate through Columbia University's teachers college, funded through NASA's Office of Education and implemented through the U.S. Satellite Laboratory. The program is dedicated to the memory of the Space Shuttle Challenger crew of STS-51-L.
