Space Foundation Education Outreach Continues

The Space Foundation continues to help educators integrate STEM education into their classrooms by providing professional development nationwide. Recent education outreach included science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) professional development for teachers at The SEED School of Washington, D.C., featured in the documentary Waiting for Superman, and at Jefferson Middle School, in Washington, D.C.
"Both schools were extremely excited to start integrating space-centered lessons," said Space Foundation Director - Education Bryan DeBates.
Recent Space Foundation education activities in Charles County, Md., included "Audience with an Astronaut" programs featuring Col. Frederick D. Gregory, USAF (Retired), former NASA astronaut and former NASA Acting Administrator; STARS (Science, Technology and Academic Readiness for Space) student programs and Space Across the Curriculum workshops for about a dozen teachers and more than 1,300 students in Charles County Public Schools.
