Strong sponsor support and high level of speaker participation help make 19th National Space Symposium Best Ever

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Mar. 27, 2003) -- Year after year, the Space Foundation produces the National Space Symposium, an event of superior caliber and value. This year's 19th National Space Symposium, scheduled April 7-10 at The Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, promises to be the best yet with an impressive list of sponsors and an agenda filled with the highest level of industry representatives. The National Space Symposium incorporates the civil, commercial and military aspects of the aerospace industry into four days of panel sessions, featured speeches, networking and business opportunities. Major co-sponsors are Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp. - Corporate Partnership Dinner, The Boeing Company - Exhibit Center, Lockheed Martin Corporation - Media Center and College Student Luncheon, Northrop Grumman - Opening Ceremony and the 15th Anniversary Space Technology Hall of Fame Awards Dinner, Oracle Corporation - Cyberspace Center and Space News- official publication. Among the symposium featured speakers are the commanders of Air Force Space Command, U.S. Strategic Command, NORAD and U.S. Northern Command; the deputy secretary of Commerce; Undersecretary of Defense; secretary of the Air Force; director of Defense Research & Engineering; NASA Administrator; and the U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff. Some of the panel sessions focusing on the latest industry issues include "The NASA Transformation -- A Roundtable," "Transforming Space Transportation - Initiatives for the Future," "The Role of Space in Homeland Defense and Homeland Security," "Missile Defense -- Transforming Our National Security," and the concluding "Views from the Top - A Senior Executive Roundtable."
