Welcome Ms. Armeen Binte Jafry!

The Space Foundation welcomes Ms. Armeen Binte Jafry and her parents to the Space Symposium. Armeen is a first-place winner in the 3-to-4 year old category of the Space Foundation’s 2014 International Student Art Contest

Four-year-old Armeen and her family traveled to Colorado Springs from Bangladesh for the May 21 art contest reception for the contest winners. The event is part of the Space Foundation’s 30th Space Symposium at The Broadmoor.

The winning students have the opportunity to see their artwork on display in the Boeing Exhibit Center Pavilion, and meet and speak with NASA astronaut Dr. Leroy Chiao, Space Foundation Special Advisor – Human Spaceflight.

More than 7,100 entries were received for this year’s contest, representing 54 countries, including 43 U.S. states and two U.S. territories. Armeen’s winning artwork is pictured here.

Other winners attending the May 21 reception include these students from the U.S.:

  • Tiffany Chen, Mich.
  • Vivian Liu, Calif.
  • Cole Lydston, Wash.
