Space Fun for Colorado Springs Families

03/15/2013

Families who live in the Colorado Springs area, and who share an interest in space, can take advantage of some local opportunities to learn more about the history of human spaceflight.

The Space Foundation will offer free a rocketry activity for children of all ages at the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum Space Saturday on March 16, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The event stems from a partnership between the Space Foundation and the Pioneers Museum to celebrate a traveling exhibit currently on display from the Charles M. Schulz Museum called To the Moon: Snoopy Soars with NASA. The exhibition, which runs through April 20 at the Pioneers Museum, examines the history of Apollo 10 and the role characters from Schulz's popular Peanuts comic strip played in that flight and in the NASA Manned Flight Awareness safety program.

The Pioneers Museum is located in downtown Colorado Springs at 215 S. Tejon St.
