Mad Science Halloween Fun at the Space Foundation Discovery Center, Wednesday, October 31

 

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Oct. 24, 2018) Safe, fun indoor Halloween celebrations are coming to the Space Foundation Discovery Center next Wednesday, October 31st.  The day will be filled with costumes, Trick-or-Treat stations, a pumpkin carving/decoration contest, followed by an evening of stargazing and discovering the wonders of the universe. To celebrate this day of Mad Science, the Discovery Center will be offering half-off admission for the entire day.

 

Activities will begin at 10:00 a.m. and the Discovery Center will remain open until 8:00 p.m. Weather permitting, the monthly Family Star Party will kick off at 6:00 p.m. with outdoor night sky viewing, focusing on Mars and Uranus.

 

Daytime activities include:

  • Spooky Storytime – 10:30 a.m.
  • ‘Trick-or-Treat’
  • Vintage Sci-Fi Movies
  • Mad Science Demonstrations
  • Space/Sci-Fi Pumpkin Contest – 4:00 p.m.
  • Mad Science On a Sphere® Presentations
  • Space and Sci-Fi Scavenger Hunt
  • Crafts & Games

Evening activities include:

  • Outdoor Telescope Viewing (weather permitting)
  • Alien Masks Craft
  • Trick-or-Treating
  • Night Sky Viewing: Uranus and Mars
  • Science On a Sphere® Presentations
  • Halloween Green Screen Photos
  • Food Truck

Located only five minutes from Garden of the Gods Park, at 4425 Arrowswest Drive, Colorado Springs, the Space Foundation Discovery Center is the region’s only space, science and technology attraction. Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
